 International Week of the Deaf

Our celebrations of International week of the Deaf got off to a great start this year with a visit from the "Hearing dogs" charity.  We raised just over £250 which will go towards sponsoring two puppies as they train to become hearing dogs.   Find out more by follow the linking to the Hearing Dogs Webpage.

During the week all the children learnt to sing and sign the song "My Dog is a Good Dog".  You can sing and sign along here too!

 Signs

The children have really embraced the presence of the Resource Provision since it first opened a year ago.  The whole school have been learning sign.  All the children have been excited to learn some BSL with our “Sign of the week”.  Children work hard to try to put these together to make short signed sentences.  Everyone is learning sign to use with songs and some prayers.
