Early Reading
We are now in the second year of using 'Little Wandle - Letters and Sounds revised', the early reading and phonics scheme. We are confident that the scheme, delivered by our expert teaching staff, will positively support your children to learn to read. Research shows that the earlier a child masters the skill of decoding the written word, the more likely they are to experience a positive educational journey, and acquire a lifetime love of reading.
The Little Wandle website offers support for parents who would like more information about how best to support your child at home. Please use the link below to access this part of their website.
It is important when reading with your child that you are using the correct terminology and the correct phonemes (the sound the letter makes). Please use the videos below to support you in saying the sound correctly. If you require any additional support with this, contact your child's class teacher.
